I was born and raised in England and Wales, and at eighteen, I opened an antique store to sell antiques internationally. After I sold that business, I moved to London and built a successful career in the UK film industry before moving to Los Angeles.

My husband and I bought our first home in the heart of Los Angeles, close to Hancock Park. It needed a lot of work and took a few years for us to renovate fully, but we were able to sell it for a nice profit to put toward our current home.

As successful as we were, we felt disappointed with the agent who helped us buy the house. We would have loved better advice on home inspections, where to negotiate better terms during the purchase, and help to find a competitive mortgage lender.

Instead, we were given too little information, overwhelmed with paperwork, and received contradictory advice wherever we looked. So when it came time to sell our home, I decided to get my real estate license and save ourselves from that nightmare.

We were the first among our friends to buy a home, so when they were ready to buy, they came to me for advice because they wanted the happier, stress-free experience my husband and I wished we had. And once I started helping friends…
